This event is kindly sponsored by Hearth House Southwest and is the combined Club Championship event for Bunbury Triathlon Club members, and the Interclub Challange event between Bunbury and Busselton Triathlon clubs.
The event is open to participants who are not necessarily involved in these two competitions, and who are not necessarily members of either club.
The Busselton course is always a favourite and is well established. Under the watchful eye of the Busselton SLSC participants will enjoy the invitingly clear and shallow waters of Geographe Bay for the swim leg.
The cycle leg is on Port Geographe Bay Rd, under closed road conditions, managed by a professional traffic management team.
The run is an out and back loop to the east, on the coastal foreshore pathway.
The finish is back in transition, under Busselton's majestic foreshore pine trees.
To qualify for the Bunbury Triathlon Club 2023/2024 Summer Series Championships awards, members must have competed in two club races of the same distance (LGM BCC included as qualifying event) and pre-register to volunteer at two club races this summer season. You may still compete in Club Championships if you do not meet these criteria, however you will not be able to claim a podium finish for Club awards. Presentations will be made following the AGM, as usual – date TBA.
Interclub Challenge: Points are allocated to the first 10 male and female sprint athletes to cross the line ( i.e. 10 points for first male and first female, 9 for second etc) and 5 points awarded for the first 5 male and female enticer athletes ( i.e. 5 points for first male and female enticer, 4 for seconds etc) so we urge all members to come along, support your club and have a great day racing! On the day of the Interclub race the Bunbury vs Busselton shield will be presented to the winning club.
Location
Transition will be set up on the eastern end of the carpark at the Busselton Volunteer Marine Rescue Group Centre, opposite Barnard Park. Please note due to Marine Rescue activities we must keep the carpark to the west of transition clear. Please park in Georgette St or further west along Geographe Bay Rd
