My Story…
Help Us Support the Hamilton Brain Injury Association so they continue their efforts to support many Brain Injury Survivors.
My husband Bryan has always been the kind of person who lights up a room. He's a loving husband and step-father to Megan & Alyssa.
In 2013, everything changed. Bryan began experiencing strange symptoms - sudden memory lapses, slurred speech, occasional disorientation and balance issues. At first, we thought it might be stress or fatigue. But over the months, his symptoms were worsening. After spending a week in hospital for tests and specialists, we left with no known cause or treatment. It's taken years to be told that Bryan has a rare degenerative brain diesease.
There is no known cure and the disease progressed quickly, attacking the brain and affecting everything from mobiliy, memory, congnition, executive functioning, etc... It's heartbreaking to watch someone so full of life face something so cruel. So we thank you for any support you can give.
