I’m running for Madox. He was my kids’ friend—one of those bright, unforgettable kids who could fold like a pretzel, light up a room, and make everyone laugh. His mom and I went through university together, and our families are forever connected. My kids were lucky to call him their friend. DIPG stole Madox far too soon. His death shook me in ways I’m still unpacking. But his memory lives in the way he changed me—he made me more fun, more present, more grateful. I’m running to honor him.
