On October 23rd, I’ll be walking alongside my son, Andrew, in the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Night Light Walk. Our team, Andrew’s Banandrews, was inspired by the incredible women who have been part of Andrew’s journey—women who have supported him, advocated for him, and helped him thrive despite the challenges that come with his disabilities.

This event is about more than raising funds; it’s about shining a light on the strength and compassion of those who stand beside us in our hardest moments. For Andrew, that support has meant the difference between struggle and possibility. For many women and children escaping abuse, the support from shelters and community programs can mean the difference between fear and safety.

We’re walking to honour those who lift others up and to help ensure that women and children in our community can access the resources they need to rebuild their lives.
