At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area (BBBS Calgary), our mission is to enable life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people. We are committed to matching children and youth facing adversity with a caring mentor. As a ‘midstream’ agency, we add positive supports to help the young people we serve improve their skills and abilities, helping them develop into resilient young people who are able to overcome challenges and achieve more. 

Our community-based and in-school mentoring programs focus on the core outcomes of improving resilience and enhancing the social-emotional wellbeing of children and youth. Through a Developmental Relationship with a trained mentor, young people facing adversity gain confidence and critical thinking skills, learn to connect with a caring adult, and look positively to the future.
