Welcome to River City Boxing's Fundraising page for the Make-A-Wish Foundation! We are a Local Boxing and Fitness Gym located in Mission, BC. We hope that you will consider supporting us by donating to this great cause.

This will be the 2nd year our gym is participating in the 5k Foam Fest. We had a blast taking part in 2024, with lots of hard work, training, and team building events leading up to the run! 

one of our own, Coach Abigail, has experienced a Make-A-Wish Trip herself. During an 8-year span of battling a rare Blood Disorder & Cancer called 'LCH' (Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis,) Abigail and her family were gifted with the trip of Lifetime through Make-A-Wish. The Abbotsford Fire Department both fundraised for and drove her family in a department fire truck to the airport for this trip. Dean Larivee, a respected and loved Abbotsford Fire Chief battling Leukemia, accompanied Abigail the whole way to the airport, and even gifted her with a Spinoza Bear (A Teddy Bear often given to children experiencing Cancer & Rare diseases, with voice recordings that tell them its okay to be scared, angry, or sad.) Her siblings were both given some awesome Fire-Department themed toys.

The family went to Disneyland, Sea World, Knotts Berry Farm, the San Diego Zoo, and Universal Studios. Abigail continued her fight following the California trip, attended BCCH sponsored camps for youth fighting cancer and rare diseases, and officially went into full remission in December of 2019. Abigail's wish for our fundraiser is to honor Dean Larivee and his family, as well as the Abbotsford Fire Department for the connection and commitment they had made to her family during their Cancer Journey. 

Supporting our community is a very important aspect here at the gym, and the cause we are fundraising for is personal to many other members of our River City Family. Every donation has weight, and every member of our team is excited to take part in this great event.
