My Story…
Mental Health Awareness is near and dear to my heart. I suffer from depression on a fairly regular basis. It is most prominent during the dark winter months. This ailment was very stigmatized in my youth, making me feel ‘less than’ as a young adult.
I speak to a doctor regularly, take medication and completed an excellent course in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at St. Joe’s to improve self talk, and help deal with the debilitating effects of depression.
I am an enthusiastic, energetic individual who is usually very optimistic, however depression can rob me of my authentic self at certain times. People would never know I had any mental health issues… but I do! It can affect anyone!!
Your support would mean the world to me.
