My Story…
Running for a Cause: My Journey with Mentor North and Overcoming Cancer
I am running for two very special reasons. The first is to raise money for Mentor North, an organization that has been a beacon of support for my family. Three of my children have been matched with incredible mentors who have become lifelong friends. These mentors provide extra support and friendship outside of our home, and the employees at Mentor North are always so kind and caring to our entire family. I look forward to the weekly check-ins from Mentor North, which have become a cherished part of my routine.
The second reason I am running is to honor my personal battle and victory over cancer. Eight years ago, I was diagnosed with lymphoma, and it has been five years since my last treatment. This journey has made me stronger, and I am determined to push myself further. I am running in the race that I couldn't participate in back in 2017, and this time, I am doing it with a renewed sense of strength and purpose.
By supporting my run, you are not only helping an amazing organization that makes a real difference in the lives of families like mine, but you are also celebrating the triumph of the human spirit over adversity. Thank you for your support and encouragement!
