Some people run for the medal.
Some run for the challenge.
I run for something bigger — and this year, I’m doing it for the eighth time.
On Mother’s Day, I’ll join thousands of others on Toronto’s iconic Sporting Life 10K course. But what makes it truly special isn’t the finish line — it’s who we’re running for.
We’re running for Campfire Circle — a place where kids affected by cancer and serious illness get the chance to just be kids. Through magical camp experiences, hospital programs, and year-round support, Campfire Circle gives these kids the kind of joy and healing that medicine alone can’t provide.
This cause has stuck with me over the years, and each run reminds me of what resilience really looks like. If you’ve ever felt inspired watching someone fight for joy despite the odds — this is your chance to stand with them.

For over 40 years Campfire Circle has provided play-based experiences through our in-hospital, community, and overnight camps for kids with cancer or serious illness and their families. We empower kids to take back their childhood, regardless of their medical diagnosis.
Now, more than ever, kids with serious illness and their families need moments of joy, connection, and healing.
