Our Story
We are running the 2025 Sporting Life 10K in support of Campfire Circle, an organization dedicated to bringing joy and support to children affected by cancer and other serious illness.
Selah experienced the joy and happiness of Campfire Circle last summer. It was the first time away with her entire family since her brain tumour diagnosis in the spring. It was a welcome change of scenery for her, her siblings and her parents. A place where so many kids were walking (or walked) a similar path of hardship/sadness yet camp allowed them to forget all that and just be kids, even just for a week.
But Selah's story is just one of many. Thousands of children in Ontario are battling serious illnesses, and Campfire Circle provides them with year-round programs, in-hospital support, and transformative camp experiences, giving them a chance to just be kids, free of charge.

For over 40 years Campfire Circle has provided play-based experiences through our in-hospital, community, and overnight camps for kids with cancer or serious illness and their families. We empower kids to take back their childhood, regardless of their medical diagnosis.
Now, more than ever, kids with serious illness and their families need moments of joy, connection, and healing.
