Run / Walk on the Bayou

Join us down in da Bayou for the 37th Annual Run on the Bayou benefiting the Westwego Beautification Commission and Bayou Segnette State Park! There is a 5k & 10K distance to choose from, and a FREE half mile Kids Dash for those 12 & under! All Participants will receive a chip-timed race, a Long Sleeve poly-cotton t-shirt, custom finisher medal, and post race refreshments!

Participants of the Kids Dash will not receive a t-shirt, but they are available to purchase during registration.

Stick around after the race for delicious Red Beans and Rice by the Westwego Beautification Krewe, ice cold beer courtesy of Crescent Crown Distributors sponsored Beer, Elmer's Chee Wees, sweet treats from Baker Maid Products, Kentwood Springs Water, hot coffee, and fruit!

Race site inside park is at the Wave Pool complex.

Plenty of Free parking at the large Wave Pool parking lot

7:00AM - Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup opens

8:15AM - Start of Kid's 1/2 Mile

8:30AM - Start of 5K Run Walk and 10K Run/Walk

10:00AM - Awards Ceremony

**Registration will shut down promptly at 8:15AM for all distances**

Entry fees

Discounted Entry for 5K & 10K for Youth (0-14) and Seniors (65 & up)

Kids Half Mile Dash - FREE (12 & under)

*Kids Dash does not include T-shirt, but are available to purchase during registration

VIRTUAL Entry division - 5K & 10K : $40.00

Virtual entrants will receive T-shirt, Bib, and Medallion by mail. If you are local, and prefer pickup please let us know.

Deadline for Virtual division entry is February 8th

* If competing in the official race walker division please check in after bib pickup at the Race Walker scoring eligibility table.

Scoring / Timing Systems:

Event is CHIP TIMED. Timing chip is attached to back side of your race number bib.

Please wear bib on front only and visible to finish line officials. Do not bend the bib or timing chip please.

Event Participants Safety Notices

NORSI / Lazy Hound Racing strongly suggests to NOT use any headphones, ear gear or similar devices that limit ones ability to hear important event instructions.

* Please be respectful of other runners/walkers on the course.

Please use trash cans located nearby each course water station. If discarding clothing on course , please place at one of the water stations.

We LOVE Dogs! BUT running or walking with dogs is not recommended. If you do bring your dog please start in the back of the pack, and keep your pet on a short leash as to not "clothesline" another runner.
