My Story…
Hi, my name is Erin Chappel. My special person who died is my dad and he died of cancer when I was 16.
That’s a classic Lighthouse introduction, and it’s also the beginning of the story that brought me here.
Lighthouse was the first place I felt truly understood in my grief. It gave me the tools to process what I was going through and the space to speak about it honestly.
Last winter, I shared my story at an artistic event in Ottawa (where I now live), and that Summer, I had the privilege of delivering some opening remarks at Run4Ligthouse 2024. This year, I'm honoured to be back as a member of Lighthouse's inaugural Youth Advisory Committee!
Supporting Lighthouse means helping kids, teens, and families feel seen, safe, and supported during the hardest moments of their lives. I’m walking and fundraising because I know just how much that matters - and who makes it possible.
