Our story…
2025 marks the 20th anniversary of the SPCA of Texas' Strut Your Mutt Race to End Animal Cruelty! This race helps end animal cruelty not only in North Texas but across the country. Please help us animals in need by joining our team for the race, donating to our team, or sharing the event with your friends and family.
As a volunteer and foster for SPCA of Texas, my family and I have seen the effects of animals who have suffered because of humans. It’s heartbreaking to witness the neglect and abuse that some animals endure, and it motivates us to make a difference in their lives. My foster dog, Winston, and my parent's dog Jaxon, both SPCA of Texas pups, are victims of abandonment. And my dog Cairo, an SPCA of Texas alumni, came to the shelter through a hoarding seizure. Not to mention my former foster, Hope, who was rescued from deplorable conditions, living on the end of a heavy chain. Each rescue story reminds us of the importance of compassion and advocacy for those who cannot speak for themselves.
