Why I'm running in support of AAFA New England
My name is Zach Yusuff. I am 13 years old and live in Cambridge, MA. I started running three years ago, and I ran Falmouth last year. I have had food allergies and asthma since I was a baby. Having food allergies means I can't eat lots of food. Having asthma means that I have to take medicines so I can breathe normally and it can be difficult to run. The food allergy buddy program (which receives funding from the Asthma and Allergy foundation of America) has helped me a lot, and I want to support it. I recently started on a medicine called Xolair, and it has allowed me to eat at restaurants and improved my asthma. Because of this, I also want to provide support so new treatments like that can be made to help people with asthma and allergies. I like to run, so I am running this race so people with food allergies can live a better life and people with asthma can run.
