My Story
Hi there, and thank you so much for visiting my Falmouth Road Race fundraising page in support of Cape Wellness Collaborative (CWC). Although I had heard of CWC, it wasn’t until recently that I learned first-hand what a remarkable organization it is.
My mother was diagnosed with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma this past Spring. I came across CWC during my research of local integrative therapies and services to consider in conjunction with standard cancer treatments. CWC did the work for me.
Cape Wellness Collaborative's mission is to help residents of Cape Cod and the Islands who are facing cancer feel better through integrative therapies, nourishing meals, and emotional support services. All CWC's holistic health services and programs (Wellness Care, Wellness Moves and Wellness Eats) are based on the latest scientific evidence.
The CWC team works with outstanding local wellness professionals to provide these services free-of-charge to those facing cancer on Cape Cod and the Islands.
Within a week, my mom was receiving healthy, nutritious, and delicious meals, prepared by a local restaurant and delivered straight to her home, and was reviewing the list of local providers offering various therapies, not covered under insurance.
If you have not done so already, please visit https://www.capewellness.org/ to learn more, and please consider donating to this amazing foundation. Approximately 2,100 people are diagnosed with cancer each year on Cape Cod, with this number increasing year over year. Every dollar you donate will go directly to CWC in support of their mission.
Thank you so much,
Liz
Description
Cape Wellness Collaborative's (CWC) mission is to help residents of Cape Cod and the Islands who are facing cancer feel better through integrative therapies, nourishing meals, and emotional support services.
Integrative therapies like massage, acupuncture, yoga, and more can significantly ease the physical and emotional side effects of cancer treatment and recovery. Yet most of these therapies are not covered by insurance, making them inaccessible to many when they’re needed most.
CWC bridges that gap. We connect individuals facing cancer with trusted, local practitioners who provide integrative care—and we cover the cost. Our model keeps care close to home, compassionate, and accessible.
Today, we serve approximately 1,100 people each year. Through our Wellness Eats program, we’ve also provided more than 18,000 handcrafted, nourishing meals to clients and caregivers across our community. We also host monthly support group meetings at our HQ in South Yarmouth.
Our goal is simple and deeply meaningful: to help people feel better—physically, emotionally, and holistically—while navigating cancer.
