Working together, we can end homelessness in Falmouth

Tom’s Journey - Imagine yourself without a home. That is Tom's* story. At the age of 66 he became homeless and was sleeping in his car. Tom always took pride in his self-sufficiency and ability to provide for himself. Then came the pandemic, and Tom lost his job, his apartment and that sense of pride. He was referred to Belonging to Each Other by a partner organization. After working with his case manager, Tom was welcomed into the BTEO transitional Men's house, where he lived for two months. In March we received a heartfelt letter from him. "The temporary housing provided by BTEO was incredible. They had staff that visited the house most every day including the house managers and other counselors. Volunteers provided rides for people who needed transportation to get to work and appointments." Tom shared this after he had worked side-by-side with the BTEO team and had successfully moved into permanent housing. "Life is good in my 69th year! I'm blessed and grateful for all the help I received from BTEO." Your generous donations create stories and new beginnings for people like Tom. Belonging to Each Other is a local nonprofit that helps our Falmouth neighbors in their journey from homelessness to stable housing. We support this vulnerable population by assisting and strengthening their connections to housing, family resources, and supportive services. We are funded by donations from local individuals, businesses, and foundations. *Neighbor’s name was changed for privacy.
