I’m excited to be running my first Pittsburgh marathon relay with my friends from work!
We were able to select a charity to run for, and we chose the Emily Whitehead Foundation. I got to know the Emily Whitehead family during my time as a Family Relations captain at Penn State. I was lucky to learn about Emily’s story and see how the foundation has progressed during my time as a THON volunteer. It is inspiring to see how many families their foundation has impacted, and the great work they continue to do. As a former oncology nurse, I am very passionate about oncology research and advocating for families impacted by cancer, so I am very proud to run for the Emily Whitehead Foundation.
Training with friends for the race has been so fun, as we motivate each other every day. I’m excited to experience all the comradery of race day with my friends, and for the celebrations after!
