My Story…
I am Jeff Garmany, a survivor of a hit-and-run that left me quadriplegic paralyzed 10 months ago. Recovery has been filled with pain, sadness, and a chance to rediscover how to really believe in mind over matter. Before, I was running hiking trails to every mountain top, waterfall, and pretty view I could get to. I spent a long time in the hospital recovering at Valley medical. I luckily got to spend five months in the hospital while my near dead body recovered enough to survive at home with my wife. From the Beautiful staff taking care of me into the physical therapist showing me and my wife, how I can work out my newly paralyzed body. Day by day, at a snails pace, my body is healing. My wife and I are back outside on the hiking trails, although I’m in my power wheelchair and she’s running beside me. Until we get a chair more fitted for rugged mountains, we have the stick to flat paved trails. I will be at the stars and strides 10K in downtown San Jose, July 11. Come out to support
