Make-A-Wish® is the world’s leading wish-granting organization, serving children with critical illnesses in every community across Canada by granting their most heartfelt wish.

Make-A-Wish Canada’s goal is to bring every eligible child's wish to life. In 2024, we granted over 2,100 life changing wishes across the country.

A wish is a personalized journey that inspires a child and engages their family and community to bring hope and joy to the child with the illness.

In fact, there are extensive research studies that show a wish is a wonderful, moving, life-altering experience with real benefits that can last a lifetime:

9 out of 10 wish kids reported that the wish experience relieved them from traumatic stress.

9 out of 10 medical providers say a wish increased compliance with treatment.

8 out of 10 kids reported that their wish gave them the strength to fight their critical illness.

9 out of 10 medical providers observed that the wish experience has a positive impact on a child’s overall quality of life.

Every year, close to 6,000 more children in Canada are diagnosed with a critical illness – that’s more potential wish kids every year.
