My Story…

This will be the third year our family has proudly supported The Lighthouse in Oakville — a place that provides hope, healing, and support for children who are grieving the loss of a parent, sibling, or loved one.

The Lighthouse has had a profound impact on my daughter Mara. Through her own personal loss, she found comfort, understanding, and strength within this incredible community. Today, she gives back by volunteering there every week, helping other children navigate some of the hardest moments of their young lives.

Every Tuesday night after her session, we talk about the courage of these kids and the compassion shown by the volunteers and staff. The work being done there is truly life-changing. It reminds grieving children that they are not alone — and that even in loss, there is hope, connection, and healing.

This 5K run is about more than crossing a finish line. It’s about helping The

Lighthouse continue to provide these essential services to families who need them most.

If you are able to support my run, know that your donation will help make a real difference in the lives of children and families facing unimaginable loss. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
