Our story…

This race is special - my name is Sultan Akif I am running with my friends for my father Muhammad Akif, who was and will always be my HERO. He passed away peacefully on 30th Jan after a long cancer battle. He was a strong and kind man who loved God and always helped people without judgement, an engineer passionate about solving problems, and a family man who loved his family dearly and selflessly. He LOVED Oakville and would spend his time cycling or walking the neighbourhood. I will remember his lessons for life - to never be afraid of big tasks as I am never alone and God is always with me, to always support my kids, follow my purpose and take care of my health. Thank you Abu for being my guiding light. You were my best friend, my buddy, and someone who taught me what real kindness looks like. I know you will be smiling down as my friends and I do this race to celebrate your life and raise funds for the INCREDIBLE work Lighthouse for Grieving Children is doing to support children 3 to 24 years of age that suffer a loss.
