Cancer touches far too many lives. At some point, almost all of us are affected by it, whether through our own experience or through someone we love. In just the last few months, several close friends have received difficult diagnoses and are now facing the challenges that come with treatment and uncertainty. Over the past few years, I’ve seen cancer dramatically alter the lives of multiple families around me.

Like so many others, I dream of a world where cancer is no longer feared, a world where it can be prevented, treated, and ultimately cured. That’s why I’m raising funds for the AACR Foundation, which supports the groundbreaking research needed to create tomorrow’s life-saving breakthroughs.

I’m grateful every day for the health that allows me to continue pursuing my passion for running, and I try not to take that gift for granted. As I train for the Philadelphia Marathon this November, I’m running with a purpose beyond the finish line: to help fuel the research that can bring us closer to ending cancer once and for all.

Every dollar raised supports the AACR’s global community of more than 58,000 members working to prevent and cure all cancers.
