My Story…
Last March, I ran my very first race—the Philly Love Run 13.1 miles! 🏃♀️💗
I couldn’t believe I had actually run a half marathon. Running had always been something I loved, but after having three kids and being diagnosed with lupus, I thought my days of running were over.
As I learned to understand my new normal with lupus and, most importantly, listen to my body, I slowly started working out again. Then I started running. And I fell in love with it all over again.
I’ll forever be grateful to my friend Devon, who pushed me to sign up for the Love Run. I rallied a group of friends together, and we all ran it side by side—some experienced runners, others just beginning and looking for a challenge. We had an absolute blast, and crossing that finish line was an incredible feeling!
Now, Devon, Jen, and I are running the Philly Half Marathon again, but this time, we’re running for something much bigger than ourselves. ❤️
