My Story…

In the early 2000's, I met Micah..a loving adorable golden retriever! Micah had a special gift she was a service dog from NEADS. She could open doors, turn on and shut off lights, she rode in the van to work with her owner, who she also went to college with! Micah was the cutest! Fast forward nearly 15 years and I met another adorable pup. A black lab who was also trained at NEADS. She spent hours with her owner who was paralyzed helping around the house and going to work. This past year my daughter asked if we could be puppy sitters for NEADS. I thought it might be a great way to teach her responsibility. Caroline rose to the occasion. Just before Christmas we brought home Stella. A ridiculously adorable 8 week puppy from NEADS. We had Stella for about 5 days teaching her all about love, family, and snowflakes!! Bringing her back was hard but we knew she was off to do amazing things! A few weeks later we brought her brother home for a weekend with the Bliss'. Caroline assured me Stella told Buddy all about her adventures with the Bliss'. Buddy was just as cute and had just as much fun with us! Being a puppy sitter has been such a great experience for my family.

I am running the Falmouth Road Race (which I said I never would again!! Its HOT and its hilly!) for NEADS! I couldn't resist giving back to a great cause. I never like asking for money but this is for puppy dogs!! Why wouldn't you want to donate?! Who can say NO to these little faces! This is a photo of Stella as we are trying to decorate for Christmas 2025, totally exhausted from the excitement of hearing about Santa Paws!
