The Little Rock Marathon takes the talent and energy of over 2,000 volunteers, 60+ sponsors and countless members of the community that want to showcase central Arkansas.
The Little Rock Marathon is a volunteer-driven organization. We offer many volunteer and leadership opportunities each year to inspire giving, personal growth and community. We cannot run without you! Thank you!
We’re always looking for fun, hardworking people to take a greater part in our organization, from the big marathon weekend to our other races throughout the year.

CALLING ALL ENTERTAINERS!
Are you in a band, cheer squad, dance crew or any other type of entertainment or performance group? If so, we’d love to have you join us as official entertainment. You will have the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of participants and spectators along our 26.2 mile race course!

Countdown to event
We love our volunteers, and we want you to have an awesome experience from start to finish. Before race weekend rolls in, please take a moment to look over the policies and guidelines below. As we get closer to the big event, your volunteer area lead will reach out with everything you need to know for your specific assignment.
Volunteer policies
To help ensure a successful and positive event, we ask all volunteers to follow the policies outlined here.
Registration/Sign-Up Requirements
Volunteers must register online by Monday, February 23, 2026. Walk up volunteers cannot be accommodated.
Cell Phone Use
Cell phones should not be used during your shift unless there is an emergency. Please turn your phone off or store it securely before checking in. Focus on your role during your shift, limit distractions.
Age Requirements
- Volunteers must be 16 years or older on the day of their shift.
- A parent or guardian must agree to the waiver for volunteers ages 16–18.
- Children under 16 may not accompany volunteers on their shift.
- Some positions may require a higher minimum age.
Group Chaperones
Groups with minors must have one adult (21+) chaperone for every 10 volunteers under 18. Chaperones must register online along with their group.
Physical Requirements
Some volunteer roles require standing for the entire shift or working in extreme weather. Some areas may require lifting 20 lbs. or more.
Media Inquiries
Volunteers may not speak on behalf of the event. If approached by media, respond with:
“I am not an official spokesperson for the event.” Then direct them to a race official.
Uniform & Appearance
Dress appropriately for your assigned duties and the weather. Closed-toe shoes are required. Event-issued credentials, vests, wristbands, and volunteer apparel must be worn when provided. Return any gear (like vests) at the end of the shift.
Pets
Only Service and Emotional Support Animals will be permitted in certain areas.

Drugs & Alcohol
To maintain a safe environment, volunteers may not consume, distribute, or be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs while working. Prescription medication or legally permitted cannabis use is allowed only if it does not impair performance or safety. Policy violations may result in immediate dismissal.
Smoke-Free Event
Volunteers are prohibited from smoking while working and in general participant areas on race weekend. Policy violations may result in immediate dismissal.
Prohibited Items
Firearms, explosives, and other dangerous materials are not permitted.
Code of Conduct / Respect
Volunteers should always treat participants, spectators, and fellow volunteers with courtesy. Do not obstruct runners, throw objects, or argue with anyone on course. Harassment, discrimination, and inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Following Directions
Event staff and key volunteers have been trained in their respective areas. Please follow their instructions and always stay alert. Your awareness helps ensure a safe and smooth race day for everyone. Violating these policies may result in removal from your volunteer role.

Enjoy Yourself
Your energy, kindness, and support are a huge part of why participants love this event.
Limit Personal Belongings
Only bring items you can keep in your pockets. Bags and backpacks must be checked at Gear Check.
Bring Photo ID
All volunteers must show a photo ID at check-in. School IDs are acceptable.
Dress for the Weather
Outdoor conditions vary, so come prepared with layers and weather-appropriate gear.
Arrive On Time
Shift times are listed in your volunteer confirmation email. Please arrive promptly.
Working With Food or Beverages
Wear gloves, secure long hair, and wash or sanitize hands frequently.
Social Media Etiquette
You're encouraged to follow the Little Rock Marathon on social media. During your shift, please focus on your role and avoid posting. If you mention the event online, identify yourself as a volunteer. Do not share sensitive event information.
