Help Jacqueline raise money

On September 5th, I'll be climbing the equivalent of 110 stories in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb to honor the first responders who gave their lives following the attacks on September 11, 2001.

As many of you know, I've had the privilege of caring for the California Task Force 8 (CATF-8) search dogs for the past 10 years. These incredible teams put themselves in harm's way to respond to disasters across the country, searching for survivors when every second counts.

In September 2024, while deploying to assist with Hurricane Helene response efforts in North Carolina, CATF-8 Task Force Leader Aide Barbat was involved in a devastating accident that left him with a severe spinal cord injury. He spent more than a year away from home, enduring multiple intensive rehabilitation programs before finally being able to return to his family.

During that incredibly difficult time, the Firefighter Aid organization provided critical support to Aide and his family, helping them navigate the enormous personal and financial challenges that followed his injury. Seeing the difference that support made reinforced just how important this organization is to the firefighters who dedicate their lives to protecting all of us.

This year's climb is my opportunity to honor those we've lost, recognize the sacrifices first responders continue to make every day, and give back to an organization that has directly helped members of our own search and rescue community.
