My Story…
Why I’m Running 🏃♀️❤️
During my Master of Public Health, I completed a case study on domestic violence and women’s health in Vancouver, reinforcing for me that violence against women is a public health issue. In Canada, 45% of women have experienced intimate-partner abuse or violence since age 15, and 28% have experienced physical or sexual intimate-partner violence. That’s why I’m fundraising for YWCA Banff and its work supporting people affected by violence. 42.2 km is hard. Leaving violence can be harder. I run because home should be safe, because women’s safety is women’s health, and because every kilometre can be a step toward a safer future. ❤️
