This year's edition of the run saw a record 600 people participate in the run, which is a record amount for the run.

Jeff Dudar, the race director with the Beaver Flat 50, said overall this year's edition went really well.

"We increased our runner count by about 150 from last year's race and from the inaugural event we increased it almost by 200 per cent running the race in the four different categories," he said. "It was big, it was a good time, there was lots of fun had, and it was excellent."

Dudar said that to see the growth is something that they are extremely proud of.

"When we first started, we had a plan to grow the race every year for the first five years, and that was part of our partnership with Sask Tourism. It's really cool to see it come to that point in terms of the objective of growth, but also not lose the fun supportive atmosphere that we've created."

"We had about 400 runners from Saskatchewan, and this year we had runners from seven provinces, and we actually had runners from three other countries join us, so the growth has been awesome," Dudar continued.

He added that the biggest challenge that they face is making next year's Beaver Flat 50 bigger and better.
