Asheville Running Experience

Big changes for the Asheville Running Experience in 2018

First, we are moving Saturday's races off the south slope of Asheville to the Salvage Station on Riverside Dr.

Second, we are moving the Super Hero 5k to Saturday morning and adding the Super Villain 10k to that event.

Lastly, due to lack of interest, we are dropping the ARX 1/2 Marathon. We are sorry to see it go but there are many other choices in the area for that distance.

Fly like a super hero down the streets of Asheville. Dress up like your favorite hero or villian and join us for a fun packed morning 5K or 10K. Both races are chip timed events thanks to Right On Time Productions.

Or have your littlest hero join us in the Salvage Station field for our Super Hero Sidekick Training Camp. A unique obsticle course just for kids. Costumes encouraged.

The Chasing Trail 8K is the off-road component of the Asheville Running Experience. Enjoy true outdoor adventure in the Asheville city limits! The race will once again be held at Richmond Hill Park.

Teams of four will depart from Asheville Pizza & Brewing at 77 Coxe Ave every 15 minutes and follow a series of clues to both hidden and well known Asheville locations.

At each location, a team member must complete a specific task before receiving their next clue (each team member will complete two tasks).

After a team completes its eighth task they will make their way back to the Starting Point for their final task. After that is completed they check in and receive their time. Enjoy a beer on us (21 and over) and snacks at the post race party.

The use of smart phones is not only allowed but highly encouraged.

Teams must follow all traffic regulations and those who don't will be penalized (we will have spies all over the course).

Teams can expect to run/walk between 2 and 3 miles during their journey.

You have 2 hours to find the 8 locations and complete the 8 challenges.

The winning team will receive 4 $100 gift certificate to use at either Frugal Backpacker or Diamond Brand Outside!
