This event is getting bigger and better every year. Our Napa Valley Vintage Triathlon (half-iron distance) is becoming very popular with athletes from around the world and quickly growing in participation. The half-iron distance event entails a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and half marathon (13.1 mile) run. You'll begin your race following a 1.2-mile rectangular swim course in Lake Berryessa at Putah Canyon Recreation Area (formerly known as Chaparral Cove or Putah Creek). With water temperatures in Lake Berryessa hovering in the high 60s to low 70s, wetsuits are allowed, but not mandatory. Next, jump on your bike for the 56-mile bike course through the rolling countryside of Pope Valley, passing scenic vineyards, idyllic pastures and charming old barns along the way as well as stunning views of Lake Berryessa. Enjoy views of Lake Berryessa along the final leg Half Marathon run, which follows a double out-and-back course along the rolling hills of Knoxville Road. We have a special Aquabike category where you can sign up to participate in the Swim & Bike ONLY (you will not do the run).
