The Island Lake Classic 5K Run/Walk starts and ends in picturesque Island Lake Conservation Area, in the Town of Mono, next door to Orangeville. Groomed trails, boardwalk, and rural roads guarantee an enjoyable event. The park setting, a free children's fun-run, and post race BBQ mean that you can make this a day out for the entire family.
Please note, admission to the park is free for participants and volunteers. Just tell staff at the gate you are with the run.
On-line registration is now closed. You can still register on-the-day at the park between 8:30 and 9:30 only - $50.

About the 5K Route
The route is a well marked loop along the southern shore of Island Lake on well groomed trail, boardwalk, and rural road.
The route starts in the park at the pavilion, heads out to the park entrance, zips down to the dam and then heads back into the park and towards the lake, along the beach, then exits the park for some road running before re-entering the park for the last 400 meters.
Very pretty. Lots of views of the lake.
Family Day-Out
Consider making it a family day-out by entering as a group in the 5K run or 5K walk. Group discounts available.
For 10 years and under, there is a children's fun-run which is approximately 500 meters on grass.
It includes a participation ribbon, as well as prize and snack.
We encourage you to stay after the race for refreshments. BBQ lunch sponsored by Sobeys will be available.
There will be free hot dogs for kids and free burgers (veggie and regular) for walkers, runners and volunteers. A small charge for non-participants.
Be sure to check out our new bridge connecting north and south trails of Island Lake!
