Laurier Loop 2014

Wilfrid Laurier University’s Sun Life Financial MDRC is Canada’s first movement disorders centre to directly support individuals with Parkinson’s disease through researching, developing and evaluating new exercise rehabilitation programs. Over 100,000 Canadians are affected by Parkinson’s disease lacking the ability to run and perform daily functions. The centre supports 800 patients each year.

• Mail in: To 2 Weberlyn Crescent, Conestogo N0B1N0 on Tuesday September 23 at 6:00 p.m.
• Drop off: At Runners’ Choice, 255 King St N, Waterloo on Tuesday September 23 at 6:00 p.m.
• Online: Right here at www.RaceRoster.com on Wednesday September 24 at 6:00 p.m.

After these dates, entries will only be accepted at Kit & Chip Pickup. All entry fees increase by $5 after pre-registration.

RACE WEEKEND - REGISTRATION AND KIT PICKUP

Race Kits & Chip Pickup will take place:

• Runners’ Choice, Saturday September 27, 10:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• University Stadium (81 Seagram Drive), Sunday September 28, 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Registrations will be accepted at these times and locations.

INDIVIDUAL CATEGORIES (one only per participant)

• Age Categories: Up to 12 | 13 - 15 | 16 - 19 | 20 - 24 | 25 - 29 | 30 - 34 | 35 - 39 | 40 - 44 | 45 - 49 | 50 - 54 | 55 - 59 | 60 - 64 | 65 - 69 | 70 plus
• Weight Categories: Male 180 - 199 lbs, or 200 lbs plus Female 150 - 169 lbs, or 170 lbs plus

TEAM CATEGORIES (each participant can belong to any number of team categories)

• Parent/Child (2 person team)
• Spouses (2 person team)
• Corporate (min 3 person team)
• School (min 3 person team)
• NEW: Open (min 5 person team)

COURSE:

The 2.5 KM Loop is a certified distance, measured by Bernie Conway.

A clock will be visible at the start/finish line to note your time for each loop.

The results will indicate your split times for each loop.

There will be two water stations per loop.

The 10 KM event is 4 loops
The 5 KM event is 2 loops
The 2.5 KM event is 1 loop
The Relay touch-off point will be at the start/finish line

The 2.5 KM Laurier Loop Course Description:

Starting on the University Stadium track, run through the parking lot, turn right on Seagram Dr., turn right on Albert St., turn right on Central St., turn left on 1st road in Waterloo Park, turn left on Spring St., turn right on Albert St., turn right on Young St., run through Waterloo Park, turn right on Seagram Dr., turn right into the University Stadium parking lot, run through the parking lot to the University Stadium track, complete a loop of the track back to the starting line.

START: 10:00 a.m. Starting and finishing on the University Stadium track.

DIRECTIONS:

- From Hwy. 401, take Hwy. 8 West to Hwy. 85 Waterloo to University Ave. W. (the second exit) to Albert St.

- Turn right on Albert St. to Seagram Dr. (Note: Seagram Dr. closes at 9:00 a.m.)

Enjoy a post race massage, live entertainment, draw prizes and a variety of refreshments following your run.

DRAW PRIZES

Also hundreds of dollars of merchandise - everyone is eligible.
Winners must be present to claim prizes.

INDIVIDUAL - 10 KM, 5 KM, 2.5 KM EVENTS:
Will be presented to the Top 3 Overall Male & Female, the Top 3 Masters Male & Female, and to the Top 3 Male & Female finishers in each age & weight category.

RELAY - 2 X 2.5 KM, 4 X 2.5 KM, 2 X 5 KM EVENTS:
Will be presented to the Top 3 Relay Teams in each Relay Category.

TEAM - 10 KM, 5 KM, 2.5 KM EVENTS:
Will be presented to the 1st Place Team in each Team Category. Additional awards will be presented to the “most spirited” team in the Relay and Team Categories.

$100 in prize money will be awarded to the top Open team in any timed event in which there are at least 5 eligible teams in the official results.

Unclaimed medals will be available for pickup at Runners' Choice on Monday October 6, 2014.
