See below for some Frequently Asked Questions on the Moose Jawg Charity Road Race:

• Is there special needs parking available? Yes, we have special needs parking available in the parking lot by the start/ finish line. Please note that you will need to be parked in this lot by approximately 7:45 am and you will not be able to leave until the race has been completed.

• Are pets allowed on the course during the race? No, unfortunately for the safety of all the runners and due to the 5 km being a TIMEX race we cannot allow pets on the course.

• Can I change races? The Moose Jawg committee will allow race changes up to 6 pm on June 30th. It is very difficult to allow race changes the day of the race.

The Moose Jawg Charity Road Race is celebrating thirteen years of good health, fun and running in the City of Moose Jaw. Since the beginning of the Moose Jawg, we have raised over $80,000 for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation and enriched the lives of all who have attended the event during that time by promoting a healthy lifestyle. All of this could not have been done without our wonderful sponsors. Many of which have been with us since our first race.

We are once again looking for Sponsors for our 13th Annual Moose Jawg. Please consider sponsoring the Moose Jawg Charity Road Race and making a difference in the lives of our runners and the Moose Jaw Health Foundation.

SOLDPresenting Sponsor: $7,500.00

Your sponsorship would include primary and prominent logo recognition on the technical shirt received by every participant, primary logo recognition on our website, posters, entry forms and all advertising mediums (newspaper/ radio) in the form of “Your Company presents...” This would of course be approved by your corporation for proper use of logo and name. Someone from your company would have the opportunity to bring greetings and welcome participants on race day. Your company banner on display on race day at the start/ finish line and other locations at the Wakamow Pavilion. Official press release, approved by your company, to announce the “ Presenting Sponsorship” and the opportunity to proving banting with your companies name in the start/ finish line area.

SOLD Breakfast Sponsor: $3,000.00 (for food/breakfast)
Your sponsorship would include Company Logo on all race shirts, posters, our website, and breakfast tickets; opportunity to participate in the program after the race.

SOLD Award Sponsor: $2,000.00
(Sponsorship of Medals and Awards for 5 km and 10 km events)
Your sponsorship would include Company Logo on all race shirts, posters, our website; opportunity to participate in the award ceremony following the race.

SOLD Runt Run Sponsor: $1,500.00

Your sponsorship would include Company Logo on the Runt Run shirts, posters, our website; opportunity to bring greetings to all participants at the Runt Run which starts at 8:10 a.m. All Runt Run participants receive a t-shirts, medals and goodies at the finish line. Every year over 50 children between the ages of 2-12 participate in a small loop prior to the main event.

Volunteer Sponsor: $ 1,000.00 (Sponsorship of our Volunteers)
Your sponsorship would include Company Logo on Volunteer t-shirts, posters and website.

Friends of the Jawg - $500 and under
Included here would be a mention on our website and race shirts (minimum for shirts $300)

Technical Shirt Cut-Off will be Thursday, June 19 at 9:00 pm.

ANYONE registering after Thursday, June 19 at 9:00 pm will NOT receive a technical shirt for the 2013 Moose Jawg.

**Unfortunately, every year Moose Jawg pays for shirts that are not claimed and therefore forfeits money that could go to our wonderful charity, The Moose Jaw Health Foundation. This year, we have decided not to forfeit the money to our charity. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN ON THE REGISTRATION.

Moose Jawg Charity Road Race is a 5 km and 10 km race organized and hosted by local volunteers. It is held every Canada Day, July 1, in Moose Jaw’s own beautiful Wakamow Valley.

Runners pay $45.00 to enter and are provided with a technical shirt, a post-race breakfast and a chance to win many prizes.

Proceeds for this event go to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation Initiatives. More than $80,000.00 has been raised over the past twelve years. Moose Jawg operates on a zero budget and rely on revenue from the race and sponsorship from the wonderful businesses in and around Moose Jaw to cover our costs for advertising, signage, shirts and food.

The idea for the Moose Jawg sprang from a meeting between Dawn Luhning and Ken Dalgarno to organize the Moose Jaw Horizon Running Club. At the time, almost all road races in the province were held in either Regina or Saskatoon. There had been a few attempts to organize a race in Moose Jaw but for whatever reason they failed to generate much interest or participation. We knew that if properly organized, there were enough local runners to sustain a race and if properly marketed, we could attract a good number of the running community from around the province. We met our goals the very first year with 75 runners. Almost half of the participants were from out of town. Our second year entries increased to 125 runners. In 2011 we had our best turn out ever with over 600 runners and over 70 participants in the runt run and we just continue to grow.

The race attracts runners from all over Canada and we are particularly excited to have had runners from outside Canada on occasions. Also included before the race each year is the “Runt Run" where children under 12 years of age run a small loop under 1km. The Runt Run has proven to be a very entertaining pre-race event. The cost for the children is only $5.00 to participate and every year each child receives a small gift for finishing, goodies, and of course lots of cheers for their efforts.
