Nothing says Fun Run like a Rock Me Anaphylaxis!
The purpose of this family fun event is to raise allergy, asthma and anaphylaxis awareness. All donations will be going to The Windsor Allergy Asthma Education Centre. Every year, 30 – 35% of all Canadians suffer from allergies and asthma. This will be our first major event to provide awareness of the illnesses in the Windsor-Essex County region. All donations will be made to the Windsor Allergy Asthma Education Centre.
The Run starts at 9am at the FORK & CORK Festival at Riverfront Plaza in Downtown Windsor (Goyeau and Riverside Dr at the waterfront) and course utilizes the beautiful waterfront trail along the Detroit River. There are two Rock musical acts along the course just warming you up for the Finishline show!

Description of the Windsor Allergy Asthma Education Centre
The Windsor Allergy Asthma Education Centre (WAAEC) was founded by Dr. Joel Liem and established on July 1, 2006.
As a result of a close partnership between Windsor Allergy Asthma Associates and various pharmaceutical companies, the primary objective of this charity is to improve the quality of life of asthmatic, allergic and anaphylactic patients in Windsor and Essex County.
What Does Windsor Allergy Asthma Education Centre Offer?
The Windsor Allergy Asthma Education Centre offers free preschool, family, teen and one-on-one adult educational sessions to patients referred to the Centre by their physician. The sessions are taught by medical professionals who volunteer their time to ensure that patients understand concepts of allergies, asthma, anaphylaxis, triggers and medication use.

The Asthma, Allergy and Anaphylaxis Campaign
In addition, WAAEC hosts an annual Calendar Contest which invites all students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 in the Windsor and Essex County area to participate in the contest. Students do not have to have allergies, asthma or anaphylaxis to participate in the contest, but are asked to draw pictures related to these 3 concepts. The contest is held from July until October and 13 pictures are chosen to be in the upcoming calendar for the following year.
