Did you know that ABI (acquired brain injury) is more common than breast cancer, spinal cord injury, HIV/AIDS, and multiple sclerosis, combined? Today, 1 in 26 Canadians are living with a brain injury. These are our friends, family members and neigbours and they need our support.
June is "Brain Injury Awareness" month. Join us for a 1, 2.5 or 5km walk at Zwicks Park in Belleville as we wrap up Brain Injury Awareness Month. Help us to raise awareness and funds to help our neighbours living with an acquired brain injury.
On June 28, 2014, four Quinte Region not for profit agencies will host the Conquer Acquired Brain Injury (ConquerABI) 1, 2.5 or 5 KM walk in Zwick’s Park in Belleville to raise funds and promote awareness of acquired brain injuries. The Pathways Foundation, Regional Community Brain Injury Services of Providence Care, Brain Injury Association Quinte & District and System Navigation are hosting this fun filled morning.
Collectively, the agencies provide supported homes, supported independent living, individual and group rehabilitation, day programs, vocational support, education and advocacy services for adults living with an acquired brain injury. All funds will support programs and services for adults with an ABI.
Prizes are available for the most number of pledges received, the team who raises the most money pledges and the person who raises the most money in pledges. Children under 12 years old are free! Use the promo code UNDER12 when registering.
Join us at 9:00 a.m. on June 28, 2014- walk with us, learn with us, and help us to Conquer Acquired Brain Injury in our communities.
