The inaugural South Shore Classic ushers in its first champions!
Beautiful Hawaiian weather set the scene for the inaugural Maui Jim South Shore Classic, an ocean swim event held in the waters of Waikiki. Over 200 entrants gathered at the popular beach spot ‘Walls’ to race a fun format never seen before on the Hawaii open water swim scene: Depending on age and gender, racers were given a ‘head start’ allowing for an exciting swim race that not only highlighted the classic battle of the sexes but matched youth against experience. The spectator friendly swim course drew large crowds on the beach as the course led swimmers through two swim loops, including a short beach run at the midway mark.
Four champions were crowned at the post event awards ceremony. Congratulations to the winners!
