Join us for Operation 23 to Zero's first Endurance Race. The race will consist of a 25 mile loop course begining and ending at Lutsen Ski Resort as the route takes you through the amazing beauty the north shore has to offer via trail and forest roads. The race is 23 hours long to complete the longest distance possible within that time. There are three Categories: Individual Male overall, Individual Female overall, and 4 person coed Relay. Relay teams will consist a minimum of a 3:1 gender ratio. We invite all racers both Elite and beginners. We especially invite our Veterans to come out to challenge themselves and push their limits.
Why 23 hours you ask? Everyday on average 22 Veterans and 1 Active duty Military service member takes their own life. This epidemic needs to change and come to an End. At Operation 23 to Zero we are making an effort to curb the massive rate of veteran and military suicide through awareness and providing a network of fellow military members to connect with for help and support.

Common Questions and concerns
What if I think I can complete only one lap?
First of all, THATS OK! Now, with that being said, you wont have to decide to do between 25 or 50 or 75 miles. Once you cross the start finish line, you will be recorded for each 5 miles after that according to the aid station you reach. There will be aid stations every 5 miles with race rosters, so you can litereally race till the 23 hour. We will have transportation to take you back to the finish line. With that being said, you have to reach an aid station at 23rd hours. If you fail to do so, you will be penalized 5 miles off your total time.
Im not a strong runner, should I do the relay?
I am recommending that our recreational runners/hikers actually consider racing as an individual. Its you versus the clock. Make it your personal challenge and life experience. The relay teams can only swap teammates at the start/finish line. This would require some faster runners to get all 4 team members through. So go out there! Do a lap, relax, eat something, take a nap, then if youre up for it head back out! Just being involved is one more step to helping eliminate Veteran Suicide.
