Thank you for joining us for the Twilight 5k/10k. We won't be doing a formal post-race survey this year, but we would love to hear your feedback. Please e-mail us at flxracingevents@gmail.com and let us know what you loved and what we need to change for next year.
A couple of things that we know will change:
-the return of the party. We tried a new direction this year and wanted to offer runners a variety of food trucks with food for purchase instead of free samples. It was getting increasingly hard to get places who were willing to serve food for free, and the "food truck rodeo" concept is very popular. Unfortunately one truck didn't show, and one left before the race ended! We will work to bring back the post-race party from previous years that did not have an additional fee for food.
-Beer & wine. While we tried to be more family friendly this year, we think we can do that while keeping this piece of the post-race party as part of this event.

So... what's new this year?
LOCATION
After 4 years in the City of Canandaigua, we made the difficult decision to move our event. The first three years were great- we paid a small fee for personnel but we had a positive relationship with the City. Last year was different. With just a week to go before our 2015 event we received notice that our fee would be $2,200- nearly $2,000 more than the previous years. Our final bill was even higher- over $2,700! While we love the community and think it's a great place to run, at the end of the day this is a fundraiser for the American Red Cross and the fees were taking money away from our mission of raising funds for local disaster response.
Although we are sad to leave Canandaigua, we are REALLY excited to move to the beautiful facilities at Pinnacle Atheltic Campus! If you haven't been there yet, you'll be amazed by the giant indoor turf field, state of the art exercise facilities, and numerous areas designated and equiped for specific sports.
POST-RACE FOOD
Every race has the same old staples- bananas, granola bars, and occasionally cold pizza. With our move to Pinnacle this year we have the opportunity to bring in food trucks- giving our runners choice in what they grab as a post-race dinner. So far we've confirmed Midnight Smoking BBQ and expect to add more soon!
POST-RACE FESTIVITIES
With our partership with Pinnacle Atheltic Campus we have the opportunity to offer an amazing variety of classes and activities! From pre-race yoga and stretching to self-defense and kickball, you'll want to save some energy to experience all that Pinnacle has to offer!
KID-FRIENDLY EVENTS
This year's event is focused on families- an added kid's fun run (around the indoor 1/5-mile track) and fun and games for the whole family.
