All proceeds go to Shalynn’s Hope, Inc. (www.shalynnshope.org) which is a nonprofit organization that was formed after Stacy Welch lost her daughter Shalynn to an accidental heroin overdose on Oct. 14, 2017. Through community outreach and partnering with local law enforcement, community groups and schools, Shalynn’s Hope has been able to help promote open dialogue and collaboration to provide education and avenues for wellness to those struggling with addiction. Shalynn’s Hope provides education through speaking engagements and presentations at area schools, communities meetings and other public venues. These presentations focus on the education and prevention of drug abuse and provide a safe place for people to talk openly about the risks of drug abuse, help prevent first time drug use, recognize signs and symptoms of drug use and how to ask for help.

Through events like the Annual Shalynn’s Shuffle 5k, Shalynn’s Hope has been able to host, purchase and distribute Nasal Narcan (Naloxone) at free Narcan Trainings in the area as well as supply and train a school district on Nasal Narcan. Shalynn’s Hope has also assisted in the placement of individuals needing treatment, helped to start and fund a local Families Anonymous meeting, and is now offering 2 - $500 Scholarships to a 2020 graduating senior of ALAH. With continued support, Shalynn’s Hope will be able to expand and help many more in our communities!
