Lions Heritage Fest 5K Run & 1.6 Mile Walk

Location:
Race begins at the corner of Oregon Avenue and South 1^st Street in downtown West Dundee
Race ends at the corner of Johnson Street and South River Street in downtown East Dundee
Ending location is approximately three blocks from the start

Parking Information:
West Dundee Downtown Public Parking on the South Side of Route 72 or on 1^st Street south of Oregon Avenue

About This Event
All proceeds from the race will benefit the Dundee Township Lions Club and the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce and their charities. Participants will be encouraged to donate used eyeglasses and/or a non-perishable food item to the race. These are the two primary charities of Lions Clubs International.

Pre Race Day Packet Pickup
Pre race day packet pick up will take place on Friday, September 17 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at West Dundee Village Hall located at 102 S. 2nd Street, West Dundee, IL. You can also pick up your packet on race morning starting at 6:30 AM.

$35 til September 17
$40 on race day
$20 for walkers

All registered runners and walkers, who register prior to September 1, 2021 will be guaranteed an official Lions Heritage Fest T-shirt! We expect that more will be available for sale after the race.


About the Course
The race will begin in downtown West Dundee, travel west from Oregon Avenue and 1^st Street, turn south on 2^nd Street, through South End Park, cross the Fox River on a pedestrian bridge, continue south on the Fox River Trail, turn back north before Hickory Drive, and finish in East Dundee. The beginning of the course has a gradual incline, but most of the race is flat; the elevation climb is 54 feet.

Race Morning Time Line
Registration on race morning opens at 6:30 and closes at 7:45 AM. The 5K Run and 1.75 Mile Walk will start at 8:00 AM

The top three females and top three males will be awarded as well as top three in each of the following age groups (male & female)

9 & under
10-19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60 & over

Awards and Post Race Party
All awards will be presented at the post-race celebration within the Heritage Fest Main Stage Tent, just north of the businesses on the north side of Route 72 in downtown West Dundee. A free beverage as well as bananas and granola bars will be available for runners that attend the party. This event will begin at approximately 9: 15 am.

Water Stop
A water stop will be located along the race at the 1 and 2.4 mile marks. Water will also be available near the start and finish line.

Follow these easy steps to prepare for your tracking:

TRACKING STEPS 1. Download the ASICS Runkeeper™ app to your phone and create an account or scroll down to log into an existing account 2. Follow this link and click "Start Virtual Run" button to add the Lions Heritage Fest 5K Run to your in-app virtual events 3. To record your run between September 18 & 19, simply click the flag icon in your app, select the Lions Heritage Fest 5K and follow prompts to start recording Once you have completed your 5k distance in the app, save your workout and it will automatically post to Race Roster results. (This step must be followed from your mobile device)

VIEWING AND POSTING MANUAL RESULTS If you plan to record using another software or tracking device or post manually from what is recorded on your watch, simply head here and "Submit Virtual Result" between September 18 and 19, 2021 .
