Your race number and merchandise will need to be collected from the locations below:

7.35 am- 2km Safety brief
7.50 am- 2km Event starts
- 6.8km
6:45 am – First Bus leaves for 6.8km
7:30 am - Last Bus leaves for 6.8km
7:45 am – 6.8km Safety Brief
8:00 am – 6.8km Event Starts.
- 10km
7:15 am – First Bus leaves for 10km
8.10 am - Last Bus leaves for 10km
8:30 am – 10km Safety Briefing
8:45 am – 10km start.
11:00 am – Prizegiving for all distances (Weather Permitted)

BUSES
Buses to both start areas will leave from Lower Dent Street, near the roundabout opposite the toilet block. See Here
- 6.8km – 6:45am – 7.30am
- 10.km – 7:15am – 8:10am
There will be NO buses for the Torpedo7 2km kid's dash, and NO buses will return to the start areas after prize giving.
COURSE MAPS
This event consists of three distances. The Torpedo7 2km Kids Dash, 6.8km and 10km.

TIMING
- The event will use a timing system.
- All participants will need to have their bib visible showing on the front of their torso.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that you are wearing the event number that has been registered to you.
- Please do not mix these up with other participants.
- Gun time will be used for official results.
PHOTOS
- Photos4sale provides a robust online platform capable of handling large numbers of images. Images are identified by bib numbers (by the human eye for accuracy and flexibility) and then offered for sale directly to athletes.
- We believe in the honesty and judgment of our customers and offer images with no fixed price. Photos4sale customers pay what they want!
DRINK STATIONS & TOILETS
- Two public toilet blocks at the Town Basin are available for you to use before catching the bus. These are located- Near the Playground and behind Mokaba Cafe. See HERE
- Cups of water are available at all aid stations including the finish area.
2km
- There are no Drink stations on course for this distance, the only drink station for this distance is located after you cross the finish line.
- Public toilets at the start/finish areas.
6.8km
- Drink stations for this distance are located at the Kissing Point Marina (2.5km) and after you cross the finish line.
- Portaloos are located at the start area and just before the Kissing Point Marina (2.5km)
- Public toilets at the start/finish areas
10km
- Drink stations are located at the exit of the Waimahanga track onto Waimahanga Road (4km), Kissing Point Marina (2.5km) and after you cross the finish line.
- Portaloos are located at the start area and just before the Kissing Point Marina (Just before 6kms)
- Public toilets at the start/finish areas
- Upon finishing, each distance will receive a cup of water, a banana, and a Medal.
EVENT DAY PARKING
- Car parking for participants catching buses to the start areas will be available at the Town Basin. We recommend you use the free bus service as there is no parking available at the start areas.
- Please note that due to the new developments at the 6.8km start area, there is NO parking available, and we recommend that all participants catch the bus to the start.
TORPEDO7 KIDS DASH
- The Torpedo 7 Kids Dash is targeted at our young Tamariki (ages 15 and under) who aren't up to tackling the other distances, however this is open to all of the other age groups too.
- All entrants aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (16 years and older) for the entire duration of the race.
- As this event is intended for our Tamariki, we ask that adults over the age of 15 that are not accompanying a child to allow the advantage and start at the back of the pack.
- Dropping your child/children off by themselves or with a friend/s is not permitted at any time regardless of how many other adults are present, the child/children are the parents or guardians responsibility at all times throughout the duration of the event, not the responsibility of the event organisers.
- Because the nature of this event is for participation and having fun, there will be no placing acknowledgements for this event, however all participants will still get a medal once they cross the finish line.
FANCY DRESS
- This year's dress-up theme is back by popular demand and is 'Hot and Cold. 'Get your minds working and dress up in something that reflects something that resembles hot or cold.
- Best dressed adults prize with the theme of ‘Hot and Cold’ will be TBC
- Winners of the children's best dressed will win TBC
FIRST AID
- St Johns will be positioned at the start/finish area.
- Please inform a marshal if you or someone else requires assistance on the course. A tail marshal will follow the event.
MEDIA PLAYERS/HEADPHONES
- For your safety, the use of MEDIA PLAYERS is discouraged. Should you choose to use a music device during the event, please have the volume at a level that ensures you are aware of your surroundings and other participants.
PRIZEGIVING
- Prize giving will be held at approx. 11:00 am at the Town Basin. Participants must be present at prize giving and show their event number to claim their prize.
- Prizes will be awarded to the following categories, Top 3 Male and Female Finishers from the 6.8km and the 10km.
- Because the nature of the Torpedo7 2km Kids Dash event is for participation and having fun, there will be no placing acknowledgements for this event, however, all participants will still get a medal once they cross the finish line.

- Participants must be present at prize giving and show their event number to claim their prize.
- If prize giving does not go ahead due to bad weather conditions, spot prizes will be drawn by the events team the following Monday, and the winners will be announced via Facebook and notified by email. Prizes can be collected from the Sport Northland office; prizes not claimed within one month of the prize draw will be redrawn at the next event.
- Because the nature of the Torpedo7 2km Kids Dash event is for participation and having fun, there will be no placing acknowledgements for this event, however, all participants will still get a medal once they cross the finish line.

To be in to win this epic prize, you must meet the criteria below, this prize will be electronically drawn on the day of the event.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PRIZE?
To be eligible to win the Spotprize, you must...
- Be 18 years of age as at the event date and have paid the adult entry fee. Date of birth must be filled in upon entry.
- Live in (be eligible to be listed on the electoral roll) one of the following District Council areas: Far North, Whangarei or Kaipara.
- Have correctly entered on the official Sport Northland online entry form.
- Have participated in the Chilltech Beach To Basin on TBC.
- Follow the Chilltech page on Facebook.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The following conditions for this prize include, but are not limited to the following:
- The prize is not redeemable for cash
- The prize is only available to the winner of the prize or their immediate family. Living within Northland.
- The prize is to be installed within 90 days from TBC
- A travel charge may apply if the prize is to be installed outside the Whangarei city boundary.
- Installation excludes any alterations, upgrades or additions to the buildings’ electrical supply, which may be required to install the prize.
PRAM WALKRUN
- For the health & safety of your child and other participants, there are restrictions on this event that must be adhered to; marshals will be in place to ensure the following: Due to uneven terrain on the Waimahanga Track and other parts of the course, Sport Northland advises that appropriate prams/buggies should be used.
- Pram walkers must remain in a single file (to allow other participants to pass safely).
- Prams/buggies can only be carried to the Start area on the last Bus (storage compartment).
- Please make sure you are on the bus with your Pram/buggy.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Prams are allowed on the 2km, 6.8km & 10km.
- No DOGS
- No SKATEBOARDS, SCOOTERS, SKATES, OR BIKES.
- The event is held on public roads. Always treat all roads as open and expect oncoming and overtaking traffic.
- Please obey all traffic laws and regulations.
- Take extreme care when approaching driveways and side roads – expect vehicles.
- Where there is a lane coned for participants, you are always required to remain within the cones.
- Marshals will be wearing high-visibility vests and are there for your safety. Always follow their instructions and those of the event organizers.
- There will be a lead bike preceding the first participant (for the on-road section of the course) and a tail marshal following the last participant. Please stop and wait for the tail marshal or notify the nearest marshal if assistance is required.
- No animals (except guide dogs) are permitted to accompany participants during the event.
- Footpaths and footbridges are to be used where available.
KIDS 15 AND UNDER

CANCELLATION
In the unlikely event of cancellation, notice will be given on Northland's More FM 91.6 and on our Facebook Page. Where possible, attempts will be made to email participants who have supplied an email address with their entry. While we will endeavour to make a decision to cancel an event as early as possible due to the nature of such events, situations can occur. See our refund structure below.
