Pace for the Donkeys is a 5K trail run (walkers welcome!) to be run on the trails and through the fields of the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada, in Guelph, Ontario. The race will take place on September 24th, 2023. It’s fun for all ‘pacers’, and good for donkeys since all proceeds go to them. The race will be timed, but go at your own PACE (just as donkeys do!). We are excited to be able to welcome people back to the farm this year and will also be welcoming runners virtually!
**Please note that there will be construction on the farm and the route for PACE this year will be different.
**Please make sure to buy your PACE 2023 t-shirt before September 4th at 8:00 AM, to ensure that you will receive a t-shirt before the day of the race.

A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.

DSC Information
Since 1992, the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada has provided a lifelong home – and haven – to donkeys, mules and hinnies who have been abandoned, neglected and abused – or whose owners who can no longer care for them. There are currently 100 donkeys and mules at the Sanctuary Farm, and 67 more in our approved Foster Farm network.
We envision a world in which the dignity and worth of all creatures is recognized and respected.
Currently, the DSC is funded primarily through private individual donations and community and corporate sponsorships of special events.
We are excited to announce that we are once again hosting the Annual PACE for the Donkeys 5K. This unique race experience twists through the trails of our Sanctuary, passing wildlife along the way, before heading back down the laneway to the donkey paddocks. Run through the donkey paddocks and experience their excitement as you come up on the finish line. Come spend a fun day here at the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada!
