Harcourts HB Women’s Triathlon: Celebrate Goals, Challenges, and Incredible Support
The Harcourts HB Women’s Triathlon is all about celebrating goals, challenges, and the incredible support found along the way. This women's-only event is specifically designed for first-timers. Even if you have never considered doing a triathlon before, this event is 100% achievable for you.
You'll be in great company for your first triathlon, joining other amazing wahine who are also 'having a go.' For the more competitive participants, there are longer events available. You can enter as a team or as an individual, with options for run/walk only, as well as Duathlon, Aquathlon, and Aquabike disciplines!
Gather your besties, workmates, or family and dive in. Take the plunge, put on your shoes, get on that bike, start training, and register. We'll see you at the finish line! With multiple races offering various distances and options, there’s something for everyone—from absolute beginners to seasoned athletes. We encourage participants from ages 7 to 99, and walkers are absolutely welcome and encouraged to enter.
Registration Details:
- Signup Closes: Sunday, Sept 22nd at 9:00 am - A late fee of $10 applies after Thursday 19th September.
- Registration Date: Saturday, Sept 21st, 2024 from 12 pm to 3 pm
- Registration Location: Registration will be held in the Grandstand foyer enter through the Hockey field side look for the TriHB flags on Saturday 21st September 12pm – 3pm
- Late Signup: Sunday, Sept 22nd, 2024 from 8:30-9:00am at the race venue, HB Regional Sports Park - A late fee of $10 applies.
- Late signup location: 8.30am – 9.00am in Finish line area, the earlier you arrive the more time you will have to get yourself sorted.
- Compulsory Race Briefing 9:40am
- Event Start Time: 10 am for all events
When arriving on Saturday the Council has asked that participants enter the Sports Park via Evenden Road to assist with traffic management.
Events:
Individual:
- Short Tri: 100M Swim, 5 km Cycle (1 lap), 2.3km Run (1 lap)
- Middle Tri: 250M Swim, 15 km Cycle (3 laps), 4.5km Run (2 laps)
- Long Tri: 500M Swim, 20 km Cycle (4 laps), 7km Run (3 laps)
Team:
- Short Tri: 100M Swim, 5 km Cycle (1 lap), 2.3km Run (1 lap)

Run/Walk Events:
- Short: 2.3km (1 Lap)
- Middle: 4.5km (2 Laps)
- Long: 7km (3 Laps)
All events are organized under the watchful eye of the amazing team at Triathlon Hawkes Bay, proud winners of the HB Grassroots Club of the Year Award in 2021 and 2022. All entry fees go directly to the Heretaunga Women’s Centre, so while you're out there feeling good, you're also making a real difference to the women of Hawkes Bay. Great things happen when women tri!

- Heretaunga Women’s Centre Trophy: Overall winner across all age groups for the Long Tri (Individual)
- Amanda Meynell Memorial Trophy: Overall winner of all age groups for the Long Tri (Team)

Swim will be held in the HB Community Fitness Trust indoor 50m heated pool
Cycle course is a safe, flat course around suburban Frimley streets
Run course is a safe, flat course using the perimeter limestone pathway around Sportspark.
Transition and registration will be on the side driveway entrance to the Sportspark. This entrance will be closed on event day, so please use the main entrance to the Sportspark on Percival Rd.
Please note: Distances are approximate. Course distances and/or maps are subject to change due to health and safety reasons, traffic management changes, inclement weather or any new hazards.
Prizegiving will be held in the transition/finish area once the last competitor has finished. No prizes for podium finishers - all are spot prizes so everyone is in with a chance! All results are live and available on the free "Triathlon Hawkes Bay" mobile phone app. Once you have registered, you must download this app as this is where any changes to the event will be communicated. All participants and volunteers are in the draw for some great spot prizes thanks to our sponsors. You must be at prizegiving to claim spot prizes.

We will have availability of hand santiser and wipes and will be frequently cleaning surfaces.At all times, the safety, healtha and well being of participants and the community at our events is the main priority. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.
