My Story…
I’m not a cancer survivor, but I am the daughter of a cancer survivor. My mom has been battling ovarian cancer since 2007. She is currently undergoing chemo (again). Our story doesn’t begin or end here, however. Our battle with cancer began in 1952 when my great grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She battled until 1968. Our battle continued when my grandma battled a bone cancer for three years. It raged through to my sweet younger cousin, Marissa, who had leukemia, then on to my dad who only battled it 6 short weeks. My maternal grandma battled with colon cancer. On March 31, my colleagues and I will bring our 20+ runners from 3rd-8th grade to run; and we will do so in honor and memory of those who fought and those who are fighting. I would consider it an honor if you donated to our group! We are racing against cancer. We are #somethingtoroarabout.
