Raise money for Team Mica Fund
ABOUT TEAM MICA FUND
The Team Mica Fund was created in memory of Mica Breeden Martin, who died by suicide on December 16, 2011. The Fund’s goal is to educate and raise awareness of suicide, as well as release the stigma associated to it.
Since 2013, Team Mica has made vital grants to Tennessee nonprofits that focus on counseling and educating others about suicide. In addition, the fund has taken part in numerous awareness events in Tennessee including: Jackson Generals baseball game, speaking at area schools, trainings for mental health professionals, trainings for teachers and educators, health and wellness fairs, Out of the Darkness campus walks, art exhibitions, hosted several 5K races and walks, plus many other events. If you are interested in having us at your school or event, please contact Erin Holcomb.
The Survivors of Suicide support group meets the 2nd Thursday of each month in Jackson at 6:30pm. Please call Paula Terry for details at 731-609-8897 and confirm attendance.
This September, we are expanding our Support Groups to Hardeman County and Hardin County. Support us so we can educate our facilitators, and provide resources to the survivors groups that promote healing such as healing gardens, art, videos, speakers, etc.
If you or someone you love is suffering from depression or having suicidal thoughts, please reach out. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number to call 24/7 (even on holidays) is 1-800-273-8255 (TALK).
