Help Me Help Our Nashville Neighbors in Need
Description
Thank you for being a part of our 39th Annual Downtown 5K Rudolph's Red Nose Run!
NeedLink Nashville has served Nashville since 1912, when Big Brothers of Nashville first delivered coal, heating oil and food baskets to those living in the shanty town areas that lined the Railroad Gulch and Cumberland River Bottoms.
Since then, NeedLink has continued to meet a variety of needs through wartime, floods, fires, tornados, epidemics and everyday emergencies. We have evolved to assist with short-term assistance when there are hardships which bring a family to the very brink of homelessness--when they are to be evicted or have had utilities disconnected.
Utility companies accept NeedLink’s pledge to pay and will immediately re-establish service or cancel the order to disconnect. MDHA, Urban Housing Solutions and other property managers also trust in NeedLink’s ability to stop eviction proceedings immediately upon our pledge to pay.
As the “Link” part of the name reflects, we also guide clients to other resources, our partners, who may be able to assist financially beyond our pledge or help a client with an issue discovered during our initial counseling (such as domestic abuse, hunger, physical and mental health issues).
You can help us help more of our neighbors by raising monies for our 39th Annual Downtown 5K Rudolph's Red Nose Run.
You help us help our neighbors like Kendra. Our recommended goal is $200, which is the maximum amount we provide to a family, older adult, or disabled person annually.
On behalf of our clients, our Board and our staff, thank you for raising monies for NeedLink Nashville.
