In April 2017 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Mantle Cell Lymphoma. I traveled to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for Chemo every month for a year, followed by 6 months of in-patient HyperCVAD Chemo at Banner Gateway Hospital. In December 2018 I reached remission, but continued maintenance Chemo infusions for another year. In December 2019 my cancer came back as a tumor behind my eye. Since then I have undergone all the testing, multiple MRI brain scans, brain surgery to biopsy the tumor, bone marrow biopsy and spinal tap to verify the cancer recurrence. I completed radiation treatments in July and started new Chemo medications to keep the MCL at bay. In the next year I will have a revolutionary treatment called CAR-T Cell Therapy, where T-Cells from my blood will be reprogrammed as cancer killers and put back into me.
