Help Rebecca raise money

For participating in 2021 BMO Vancouver Marathon

My Story…

Hello Friends! My sister and I started running this past winter since the gyms/sports were shut down due to covid, and then we got the idea of running a half-marathon, and we wanted to participate in the race while also contributing to a good cause: ALS Society of BC. The ALS society is personal to me, as my highschool band teacher passed away last November of ALS. He was encouraging, funny, incredibly dedicated to his role - and always supportive of your goals. The lessons learned in the bandroom far exceeded musical notes on a page. I want to run this race to honour him. Thank you for all your support, anything and everything is greatly appreciated.

Description

The ALS Society of BC was founded in 1981 by ALS patients, their family members and healthcare professionals to meet the physical and emotional needs of people living with ALS and their caregivers.  The society provides support services to ALS patients and their family to improve their quality of life while living with ALS; equipment loan program, patient transportation support, support groups, psychological support, a camp for children of ALS patients, day of caring for caregivers and outreach and public awareness.   The society also supports ALS research to find the cause of and cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
