Our story…
Proceeds from the 2022 Strides for Shelter 5K Run / Walk will benefit the Charlotte Rescue Mission. The Charlotte Rescue Mission serves those at the intersection of homelessness and addiction through housing, counseling, fitness, and educational programs.
Charlotte Rescue Mission is currently rebuilding their men’s program facility, as the current building is over 100 years old. Proceeds from the race will fund the creation of an admissions waiting area in the new facility that will provide a welcoming, inviting, and more private environment, which is something the current space lacks.
Thank you so much for your support of the Strides for Shelter 5K. Since the inception of the Strides for Shelter 5K in 2016, the Canopy Housing Foundation has returned $91,760 from the race proceeds to several worthy local beneficiaries who are all working to address the needs of the homeless.
