Hello friends, family, and fellow advocates!

Welcome to my fundraising page for the 2024 pride & remembrance run. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a Risk Consultant at EY Canada, a proud member of the Toronto 2SLGBTQ+ community, and this year, a new member of the board of directors for the Pride & Remembrance Association. 

I am arranging this fundraiser in gratitude for the acceptance, support, and love that this wonderful community has showered on me since arriving in Toronto alone in 2019, after freeing myself from a toxic relationship. Immigrating from South Africa was a daunting journey, but it was made so much lighter by the people I met here. This community didn't just accept me, it became my family.

Getting involved with the Pride & Remembrance Run three years ago was one of the best decisions I've ever made. It serves an amazing cause - to promote and support the health and wellness of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Now, I am fortunate enough to serve on the board of directors, and I couldn't be more excited to help drive our mission even further.

This journey has taught me about the power of resilience, the beauty of authenticity, and the importance of supporting each other. I have also learnt that in unity, we can weather any storm and rise above any challenge. I chose to share my story not to take the limelight, but to light the way for others who may be navigating their own challenging paths.
